Meet Captain Canuck Creator at L. A. Mood
L. A. Mood’s is pleased to present Richard Comely, creator of Captain Canuck on Saturday, October 22 from 4-6PM for a Meet/Greet/Signing at our store at 100 Kellogg Lane.Richard Comely created Captain Canuck in 1975, while working as a sign painter, crest designer, clothing designer, portrait artist and graphic artist in Manitoba. He has spent 40 years in the graphic arts business for various magazines, illustrating 14 children’s books, teaching art, as well as publishing Captain Canuck.The Royal Canadian Mint released a Captain Canuck coin in May 2018. It sold out within two days of its release. Canada Post released Captain Canuck postage stamps in 1995, 6 million stamps were produced.Comely was inducted into the Joe Shuster Canadian Comic Book Creators Hall of Fame in 2010. He is working with publisher and producer Fadi Hakim and others on exciting new ventures for Captain Canuck and other titles. New comic book series, books, an animated series and a Captain Canuck live action television series are in the works.Richard Comely will be signing copies of Free Comic Book Day editions of Captain Canuck at no charge.Come on down and meet the man behind Canada’s own Super-hero!
